“Absolutely stunning! The Rolex Daytona Cosmograph exceeded my expectations. The yellow gold dial is elegant and the white accents give it a modern touch.”
Silver dial
A watchmaking technique
The diamonds on this dial are set in gold imitation. Numerous dials in the Oyster Perpetual range have beautiful light reflections thanks to the sunray coating. Expert brushing techniques are used to achieve it, resulting in grooves that radiate outward from the dial’s center. Every etching has light that is uniformly diffused, giving the piece a distinctive, delicate glow that changes with wrist position. Following the completion of the sunray finish, electroplating or physical vapor deposition are used to apply the dial color. The dial is finished with a thin layer of varnish.
Fluted bezel
A Rolex signature
A distinguishing feature of the Rolex is its fluted bezel. Originally, the Oyster bezel’s fluting served a practical purpose by allowing the bezel to be screwed into the case, which improved the watch’s waterproofness. Since the case back was also screwed onto the case for waterproofness using special Rolex tools, it was identical to the fluting on the case back. The fluting evolved become a defining visual characteristic of the Rolex over time. In gold on this Datewatch 31, the fluted bezel is a symbol of distinction today.
The Jubilee bracelet
Supple and comfortable
Advanced high technology is used in the creation, development, and manufacturing of Rolex bracelets and clasps, as well as in the rigorous testing that goes into them. Additionally, aesthetic controls by the human eye ensure flawless beauty, just like with all the watch’s components. The Oyster Perpetual Datejust was introduced in 1945, and the Jubilee, a flexible and cozy five-piece link metal bracelet, was created specifically for the occasion.
