The Rolex fluted bezel is a mark of distinction. Originally, the fluting of the Oyster bezel had a functional purpose: it served to screw the bezel onto the case helping to ensure the waterproofness of the watch.
It was therefore identical to the fluting on the case back, which was also screwed onto the case for waterproofness, using specific Rolex tools. Over time, the fluting became an aesthetic element, a genuine Rolex signature feature. Today the fluted bezel is a mark of distinction, in gold on this Datejust 36.
White dial
Limitless freedom
Lacquer offers a flawless finish, intense color, and nearly infinite color freedom. The lacquering process involves applying six thin layers of lacquer to a metal base plate one after the other. The color or shade is then given all of its depth and luster by applying a colorless varnish. The dial is prepared for pad printing and applique application after the varnish has dried and its surface has been polished to bring out the color.

The Oyster bracelet, which is made to be both sturdy and comfortable, is the ideal synthesis of form and function, style and technology. It has the Easylink comfort extension link, which is unique to Rolex, and an oysterclasp.
