The Oyster bezel’s fluting originally served a practical purpose, allowing the bezel to be screwed into the watch case and assisting in ensuring the watch’s waterproofness. White dial

Lacquer offers a smooth finish, intense color, and nearly infinite color freedom. The lacquering process involves applying six thin layers of lacquer to a brass base plate one after the other. The color or shade is then given all of its depth and luster by applying a colorless varnish. The dial is prepared for pad printing and applique application after the varnish has dried and its surface has been polished to bring out the color.
